    National Trust completes its largest solar installation to date

    Adding to the number of solar installations completed before the December 12 deadline, the National Trust’s 37.5kWp project is now generating renewable energy in Wales. Delivered by Dulas, the ground-mounted system at the Grade I listed Llanerchaeron property has been combined with the Trust’s existing 7.5kWp solar PV array.

    Dinnington-based company Solar Roof Solutions Ltd has fitted a free solar PV system on the roof of Amy’s House, a local charity shop.  Run by volunteers the charity shop supports Amy’s House - a respite facility that cares for special needs children and their siblings.

    The RSPB, the UK charity working to secure a healthy environment for birds and wildlife,has installed four PV systems at different locations across the UK, with two more installations planned. The charity has also launched its own ‘Going Solar’ scheme with Solarcentury, to help members to invest in renewable energy themselves.

    The Servite Priory is a registered charity and community house, where people can find refuge and retreat. The house is run by six paid staff and 24 volunteers. Built in the 1880s, the house offers accommodation for 100 people, and is set in a 100-acre estate. Manager Noilin Mullin joined the Servite Priory thirteen years ago and has a vision of turning the Priory into an Energy Valley.
