Watford’s ‘Wrap’ development installs 39.6kWp solar system

Myriad CEG has designed and installed a 39.6kWp solar PV array at the 'Wrap' building in Watford. The development consists of new build apartments and office blocks at the home of Watford Football Club, Vicarage Road

A total of 220 Sharp 180W panels combined with a Fronius inverter were used by Myriad CEG to help the building harness the sun's energy to generate electricity. Myriad CEG utilised a bespoke ballasted Schletter mounting system to support the array.

The system is expected to generate in excess of 30,000kWh of electricity per year, saving 19 tonnes of CO2 from being emitted each year.

The ‘Wrap’ development, owned by Origin Housing Group, has since achieved a level 3 ‘very good’ eco-code status and the ‘Best Architectural Design’ First Time Buyers Award 2011.
