UK-based solar company A-Sun has passed the IEC 61701 salt mist corrosion testing stage for its MCS accredited photovoltaic modules.

The level 6 accelerated laboratory corrosion test performed by institute TÜV Rheinland exposed the modules to salt and humidity for 56 days, determining the resistance of the module to corrosion from salt mist. This test is useful for evaluating the compatibility of materials, and the quality and uniformity of protective coatings.

Now that A-Sun’s products have passed these tests, the company’s modules are among the few products in the industry certified and suitable for installations in coastal climates.

A-Sun modules are also delivered with a 10-year warranty on product and 25-year on efficiency backed by the European Insurance CHUBB.
