British Solar Renewables has claimed to have installed the UK's first private 132kV solar grid connection at the 49.9MWp Owls Hatch Solar Farm in Kent.
The connection was designed and installed by Renewable Energy connections, an independent connection provider, which collaborated with regional DNO, UK Power Networks.
Angus Macdonald, chief executive at British Solar Renewables, said that making the connection prior to last month’s Renewable Obligation deadline was a “remarkable achievement” for the developer.
“[The connection is] The result of a great deal of hard work and dedication. It’s a great demonstration of the skills and expertise of Renewable Energy Connections,” Macdonald said.
