Conergy’s UK arm has replaced its senior management team little more than a year after their appointment.

Following UK industry stalwart Robert Goss’ departure from the firm last year, Conergy UK was led by the managing director duo of Lindsey Geraghty and Paul Weaver. Both were appointed joint-MDs last October after Goss left to establish Solar Electric Ireland.

At the time Conergy UK said the restructure was to reassert its “ongoing commitment” to the UK market despite a raft of subsidy cuts impacting the industry.

However the two have lasted little more at the helm of the firm.

Official records show that Geraghty’s appointment as a director was terminated on 30 September this year and Weaver’s on 31 October. The two have been replaced by Shaun Ronaldson and Kevin Mclelland, the latter of whom was formerly Conergy UK’s head of O&M.

A representative of Conergy UK confirmed to Solar Power Portal that Geraghty and Weaver had been replaced by Ronaldson and Mclelland as managing directors.

SPP also understands that Conergy UK has made a number of redundancies recently, however the representative would not comment on those details.

Conergy UK’s last results disclosure for the year ended 31 December 2015 – filed in June this year – revealed how its turnover had collapsed by more than a third (37%) year-on-year, resulting in an operating loss of more than £8 million in 2015 compared to a profit of £10.3 million the year before.

It attributed this at least in part to soaring construction and development costs last year before going on to suggest that O&M would be an increasingly importance element of its business.

The results disclosure states that at the time of filing it had an O&M portfolio of 196MW which would “sustain the business through a two-year period from the date of O&M inception”, the majority of which was in 2015.

This story has been amended from its original version to reflect that only Lindsey Geraghty has left Conergy, and not Paul Weaver who remains at the company.
