Concentrated photovoltaics (CPV) systems provider Circadian Solar has opened its second UK-based premises at the Viscount Centre on the University of Warwick Science Park. The new building will house a prototype manufacturing line for the pilot production of Circadian’s CPV systems.
The company has acquired more than 2,000sqft of space at the Park, which is already home to its head office. The Viscount Centre building has undergone significant modification in order to accommodate the prototype manufacturing line.
CEO of Circadian Solar, Jeroen Haberland said, “2011 is an important year for us; we have more test sites opening and several commercial projects in the pipeline, all of which mark the transition of our systems from lab to real world. It’s an exciting time, and moving into pilot production is a significant step forward in our path to full manufacture that reflects the confidence that we have in our CPV system development to date.”
The CPV systems developed by Circadian Solar are designed specifically for use in sunbelt regions, and the company anticipates that its full-scale manufacturing plant will be based in Europe.
