Independent connection provider Dragon Infrastructure Solutions has revealed “long term business growth” to be the reason behind its recruitment of Andrew Garcia as the firm’s new managing director.

Garcia joins the company having previously held senior management roles at electrical earthing engineers Omega Red, contractors SSI Services and business consultancy Navigant Consulting and will be immediately tasked with supporting Dragon’s growth strategy.

Dragon recently expanded its capacity by more than 60% by acquiring a new unit on the Brackmills Industrial Estate in Northampton, which the company said was to “further capitalise” on opportunities within the UK solar market.

Debbie Edgar, chief executive at DragonIS, said the company was “delighted” to have Andrew on board. “His breadth of experience running businesses of our size and larger will be invaluable to help us capitalise on the huge growth potential we have and the opportunities we have identified in the market,” she said.

Garcia meanwhile said it was a “great time” to join DragonIS as it looked to increase its market share.

“DragonIS is an inventive and exciting business, which I am really looking forward to helping reach its full potential. DragonIS has already proved itself a pioneering force and industry voice within the construction market, but there is so much more to come and I am honoured to be a part of this,” he said.
