Renewable energy provider Eco2Solar has secured a £700,000 contract to install solar systems on 323 new homes and four apartment blocks being built by Linden Homes.

The order book comprises systems of up to 1.5kW, including 53 rooftop installations at Evolution Quarter in Orpington, Kent, and the completion of 171 rooftop arrays at the Kingston Mills development in Bradford-Upon-Avon.

The installations will help the new-build accommodation erected by Linden Homes to meet BREAAM code 4-6 criteria, meaning they have a high energy efficiency rating.

When it signed the preferred supplier agreement with the development company in June last year, Eco2Solar, part of Eco2 Solutions Group, took on all new and existing energy contracts with Linden Homes parent company Galliford Try’s dedicated energy company Regeneco.

Stephen Teagle, Linden Homes’ managing director of affordable housing and regeneration commented: “We have been applying measures such as solar PV to reduce carbon emissions on a number of our developments for some time now, and having Eco2Solar’s expertise in renewable technologies is of real benefit, particularly when working on more complex developments or redevelopment sites.”
