Kneejerk changes to the UK’s renewable energy policy regime come at a time when European and international policy commitments should be increasing its clean energy ambitions. Just last week a group of influential investors wrote to the Chancellor warning of the impact of the latest changes on longer term investor confidence. But with a gaping loophole in the EU 2030 policy design unresolved, the impetus from Brussels for greater action could be limited.
