Solar carport specialist FlexiSolar has bolstered its operations team on the back of “significant growth” of its pipeline.

A total of five new hires have been made for its operations team which is now led by operations director Keenan Gratrick. FlexiSolar said Gratrick would bring more than 10 years’ experience to its team having previously held roles at the likes of Lark Energy and Padero Solar.

Also joining the firm are Piervanni Fois, who assumes the role of electrical and automation design engineer; former Belectric Solar man Andrew Edwards, who joins as FlexiSolar’s new construction manager; new site manager Ashley Wass; and Rachel Wareing, who will support FlexiSolar’s operations and maintenance division as project co-ordinator.

FlexiSolar is aiming to cater for the growing market for integrated solar carports that offer EV charging and battery storage solutions, and said that its operations team has had to grow fast on the back of being awarded a “high level of projects” so far this year.

O&M contracts are also on its radar in a bid to grow its portfolio of maintained sites.

Robert Carpenter, managing director at FlexiSolar, said: “The level of complexity and understanding in the design and installation of these solutions is of paramount importance and needs clear expertise behind it; which is exactly what we have put in place with the FlexiSolar operations team.

“The growing team is focussed on developing intricate, bespoke solar carport systems for our clients, from concept to completion.”
