Freetricity will install another 10,000 residential PV systems in England and Wales following a deal with clean energy investor and fund manager Zouk Capital.

The second agreement between the pair builds on a 3000 system contract that made up part of the portfolio sold to Aviva Investors.

The systems are installed without cost to the homeowner who receives reduced electricity bills in return.

“We were the pioneers of distributed solar projects of this type in the UK,” said Colin Campbell, managing partner, Zouk Capital. “Distributed solar PV remains an extremely efficient method of power generation, has a strong carbon benefit and provides fuel poverty relief, while at the same time fits our fund’s capital gain strategy,” he added.

The latest agreement will target homeowners and social housing residents in the South Wales and the south of England.
