Legal & General enlists HBS New Energies for solar housing scheme

HBS New Energies has been selected to deliver roof integrated solar PV as part of Legal & General Homes' (L&G) sustainable housing development.

Around 128.4kWp of rooftop solar will be installed by HBS across 37 homes in the Buckler’s Park development in Berkshire.

An estimated 120,244kWh will be generated per year, with a carbon reduction of 62.4 tonnes.

System sizes for houses range from 2.4kWp to 4.2kWp and for apartment blocks 2.4kWp to 4.6kWp.

The scheme will help to meet L&G’s energy targets of achieving a 19% saving in CO2 emissions through on-site renewable generation.

James Bull, managing director at HBS New Energies said he was “delighted” at being selected.

Solar is only one part of the Buckler’s Park development, which is creating a sustainable community of 1000 homes that will also feature electric vehicle chargers and energy efficiency technologies.

Installations of the solar will begin in the next few months.
