The Microgeneration Certification Scheme’s (MCS) Installation Database will be offline for two house from 15:00 on Tuesday 15 September.

MCS says that the downtime is necessary to implement a range of upgrades to the installation database. After the maintenance work installers will be able to enter details for multiple recipients and products when creating an MCS certificate. In addition, the work will allow MCS to be able to withdraw certificates, something the body will do when a system has been found to be non-compliant.

MCS says that it expects the website to be unavailable for a minimum of two hours. Whilst the maintenance work is carried out, installers will not be able to generate certificates. The body also warned that it was unlikely that any MCS certificates will be sent out during the maintenance period.

Full details on the maintenance work being carried out can be read here.
