Following on from the recent success in the UK solar market, Oskomera Solar Power Solutions (OSPS) has announced that it built more than 12MWp of large-scale ground and rooftop PV projects before the August 1 FiT deadline. OSPS was responsible for the full EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) works for these projects for a variety of clients.

Among the completed installations is the Howton solar farm in Cornwall, which, at 4.99MW, is one of the UK's largest solar projects in the UK. This plant was constructed for Low Carbon Solar and funded by Lightsource together with Octopus Investments.

The Howton solar farm is one of a series of four systems which have been built for Low Carbon Solar over the last two months.

OSPS also completed the 4.5MWp ground-based solar system in Marston, Lincolnshire on behalf of Lark Energy and Lightsource. This system is one of the fastest solar parks built in the UK, taking just six weeks to construct.

The Gloucester-based 1.2MW system in the Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean was also accomplished by OSPS. The Beegreen Energy project is mounted on the warehouse roof and will enable Vantage Point Business Village to significantly reduce its carbon footprint as well as considerable savings in energy bills.

“This is a fantastic demonstration by our teams of engineers, project managers and site managers that has enabled us to deliver these systems on behalf of our clients. I would also like to thank all of our suppliers and subcontractors whose dedication and hard work has enabled us to realize these projects in such a short timescale over the last few months,” said John Mustardé, Director at Oskomera Solar Power Solutions UK Ltd.
