Primrose Solar has sold five solar farms to socially responsible investor Equitix, completing the sale of all its operational solar farms in the UK.

Today’s sale comes a week after 78MW worth of assets were sold to Greencoat Capital’s new solar investment vehicle and the 95MW sale of assets to Bluefield Solar Income Fund in January.

The 80MW portfolio Equitix has purchased includes;

  • Garn in Vale of Glamorgan (7.4MW)
  • Race Farm in Dorset (6.1MW)
  • Newton in Dorset (11.3MW)
  • Nova Scotia in Norfolk (13.9MW)
  • Canworth Solar Farm in Cornwall (41MW)

All assets were accredited in 2014 under either 1.4 or 1.6 ROCs.

The sale brings the curtains down on Primrose’s stint as an asset owner in the UK following a prolific three years of solar development. The company had developed more than 250MW of solar in that time and CEO Giles Clark said he was pleased with its track record.

“The sale of these last assets to Equitix, one of the UK’s leading socially responsible investors, means they will remain in good hands continuing to contribute to the UK’s sustainable future for many years to come.

“This is a great note to end the year on, and while this deal marks the end of one phase for Primrose Solar we look forward to the new solar opportunities that 2017 and beyond will bring,” Clark added.
