Proinso eyes Central American expansion with new office openings

UK solar developer Proinso has announced an expansion into seven Central American nations as it looks to broaden its global reach.

The firm is to open offices in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama in an attempt to capitalise on the solar PV explosion occurring in the region.

Once opened, the firm’s new offices will take the number of countries Proinso operates in to 26 and more than 50 jobs are to be created across Central America.

Fraterno Vila heads up Proinso’s operations in Central America and said that the company has already delivered more than 140MW of solar in the region.

“We are delighted to be extending Proinso’s operations into Central America. We believe our new colleagues have the local knowledge and skills to help us flourish within this market,” Pablo Gonzales, regional head at Proinso USA, added.

In October this year Proinso hit the headlines after being named EPM provider for a 100MW project in the Philippines which was at the time reported to be the largest solar farm in South East Asia.
