German solar EPC BayWa r.e. has added to the UK’s pre-ROC deadline activity by commissioning six new solar farms prior to tomorrow’s 1.3 ROC cut-off point.
Developers with grace-eligible projects have until tomorrow night to connect them and receive Renewables Obligation certificates, and a host of companies have been publicising their completed works in recent days.
The six farms BayWa r.e. has completed have a total generation capacity of 130MW and includes the 45MW Vine Farm project, which is the largest solar farm the company has completed to date.
BayWa r.e. has acted as financier for all six farms and has said it is currently in discussions with institutional investors regarding their sale.
Matthias Taft, board member at parent company BayWa AG, said that the new projects takes the company’s completed solar and wind project capacity to 390MW and that it was now working on plans to acquire additional sub-5MW projects in the UK and Northern Ireland in particular.
On Tuesday ReneSola confirmed that it had completed 20MW of utility-scale solar in recent weeks, and today Solarcentury said that the total generation capacity of solar it has deployed in the current ROC year had surpassed 140MW.
