Technology manufacturer Sharp is to showcase a number of new solar PV components at this year’s Solar Energy UK conference, which kicks off on 13 October.

Sharp will be demonstrating a new solar module, battery solutions and its Smart Chap energy management product – the first time Smart Chap will be presented in the UK.

The product is a small energy control unit for household use which allows consumers to manage, monitor and predict energy consumption using an online web application. It will be sold together with Sharp’s 6.3kWh BMZ battery.

Sharp will also show its 260MW module range which was recently expanded with a black/black model.

Andrew Lee, sales director at Sharp Energy Solutions in Europe, said the firm was excited about the product launches, which were intended to “continue to establish us at the forefront of the industry”.

Sharp will be present at booth A50 at the show, which takes place at Birmingham’s NEC between 13 and 15 October 2015.
