Every household in the Slough district will get the chance of receiving free cavity wall and loft installation.

Slough Borough Council is offering the ‘Insulate Slough’ scheme to all households in the district. The scheme is open to all households that, after being subjected to a survey, are deemed eligible for the free cavity wall and loft insulation. Besides eligible houses, the borough council will further insulate 6,500 of its social housing properties to help reducing energy costs.

Anesco is installing the insulations, having worked with Slough council since 2011, and the company has already installed new insulation in over 300 properties. Cavity wall insulation may reduce energy costs by up to £135 while loft insulation can save another £175 per household each year.

The property services team at Slough Borough Council commented: “We’re delighted to launch the Insulate Slough scheme, which will help tenants and residents make vital savings on their spiraling energy costs, while helping to reduce carbon emissions. Anesco has already introduced a number of green initiatives in the region including free solar power for schools, which has proven very successful. Each project takes us a step closer to our goal of making Slough a leader in the low carbon energy generation.”
