The Solar Trade Association has confirmed plans for next week’s Solar Independence Day, which will see solar PV systems up and down the country open up to the general public.

Taking place on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 July, the annual celebration has been designed to introduce the public to the benefits of solar power and allow them a first-hand look at commercial installations and solar farms.

More than 15 sites from Dorset to Edinburgh managed by companies including Belectric, Lightsource and Foresight Solar will open their doors next week, each holding their own event and some are set to be visited by MPs as well.
