Mongoose Energy has continued its recruitment drive by appointing energy veteran Garry Peagam as its new chief financial officer.

Peagam has nearly 15 years experience of holding top financial positions within the energy sector having served as group finance director at Good Energy between 2010 and 2014, and group financial controller at EDF.

He takes the reins from David Bunker who has stood down from his position after more than five years. Bunker will remain at Mongoose and continue to work with community groups the company engages with.

Peagam adds to Mongoose’s recent hires which also include Mark Kenber as managing director and Nick Johansen as operations director, both of its supply division.

Speaking of his most recent hire, Mongoose chief executive Jan-Willem Bode said: “Garry has an exceptional depth of experience in this industry and will play a pivotal role in helping us develop our unique, majority-community-owned organisation.”

Lightsource has also been active on the recruitment front this week, hiring Shane Swords as the firm’s new head of equity fundraising.

Swords, who previously served at Helaba and Depfa Bank, joins the firm from Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors where he was responsible for the closing of various equity and debt transactions in Europe and the US.

Elsewhere SOLARWATT is to support its European expansion by appointing as many as 12 installation businesses across the UK as ‘premium partners’, tasked with promoting the brand and installing its products.

Premium partners are to be given delivery priority, preferential pricing and marketing support, and international sales manager Pol Spronck told SPP yesterday that the offer had already garnered significant interest.

In a similar fashion, Carbon Zero’s Solar Owner’s Club is continuing its hunt for installation and manufacturing partners, having last week formalised an agreement which will see German firm SolarWorld become its first official partner.

The initiative, a subsidiary of Carbon Zero, remains in talks with several other manufacturers.
