Anesco has named Kevin Mouatt as its new chief executive. Mouatt has worked in a series of director and chairmanship positions across a range of industries, including a number of non-executive positions at trade bodies, as well as serving as group managing director at scaffolding firm D+R Group.

He remains an executive director at management consultancy firm RISE Management Services and was appointed to Anesco on 31 May. It is unclear what involvement Delvin Lane will continue to have with the company.

Meanwhile, the new Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has continued to take shape with a series of new ministerial appointments following the promotion of Greg Clark to secretary of state. Among them is Baroness Neville-Rolfe, who addressed the House of Lords this week as minister of state for energy to open the debate on Carbon Budget Order 2016.

The new department claimed the ministerial briefs were still being discussed and that nothing had been decided, with Jesse Norman making his return to departmental politics on Monday night to discuss the fifth carbon budget legislation on Monday night.

The conservative peer had enjoyed a long career in business before joining the Lords in 2013, having served on the boards of ITV, Tesco, PwC and others. She appears to have had little experience with the energy sector aside from serving as a non-executive director of the Carbon Trust from 2008-13.

Back in industry, Absolute Solar and Wind has appointed Graham Provest as its new managing director a year after he joined the company as sales and marketing director. He takes over from Tom Newell, the son of founding director Mark Newell, who will continue in his role of director of Absolute.

Provest joined from Mark Group in May 2015 just months before it went under and will now look to grow Absolute further.

Finally, Campbell & Kennedy has promoted Anton McCabe to solar project manager after he joined as a solar engineer and has since proved his technical expertise and industry knowledge. With over 15 years’ experience in the electrical industry, Anton has overseen the installation of several large-scale solar PV installation projects throughout the UK for clients in both the private and public sector.

This new role will help support C&K’s growing energy division after already managing solar PV installations to West Dunbartonshire Council schools and three Police Scotland offices.

Jason Lowey, energy manager – north at Campbell & Kennedy said: “We are delighted to have Anton on board. His experience and skills will be a great asset to the team and will ensure our installations continue to be of the highest quality.”
