Solarwatt has appointed Bobbie Wright as its sales manager for the UK and Ireland to oversee the launch of its MyReserve battery storage system for homes and business in the UK.

Wright has held account management and business development roles at Dulas, Baywa r.e. and most recently Leclanche, from which she was made redundant in February, at the time fuelling speculation the Swiss company was preparing to exit the UK battery storage market.

Her appointment at Solarwatt will see Wright support the work of Pol Spronck, international sales manager, who has been working across numerous markets to grow the brand globally.

While Spronck will remain responsible for the company’s work with Northern Irish partner BHC Distributors, Wright will seek to grow the business among UK and Irish installers, distributors and end users

“Solarwatt is now the clear leader in quality, innovation and performance and I look forward to ensuring the market is well served and understands our products and service offering,” she said.

Currently Solarwatt’s installs have been limited to user trials to test the system in situ and build interest in its performance as part of the UK energy system. The company recently unveiled an improved and simplified modular MyReserve system which Spronck told SPP back in March would be launched in the UK next year for homes and small businesses.

In preparation, Wright will work with existing partners to ensure training and best practice is in place, while facilitating an upcoming partnership with inverter company Fronius. She has also already begun building other potential large scale deals which could see hundreds of solutions installed.

Spronck said: “I welcome Bobbie to the company as it is a vital time for us. We are growing strongly and now have 315 employees worldwide. The UK is a key market for us and we intend to match that growth here.”
