Spanish solar company, Solaer, has completed its first major project in the UK. Solaer worked together with its long-standing partner, Conergy, to complete the 5MW project, located in the village of Eastcott near Bude in Cornwall.
The system consists of 21,000 Conergy PH solar modules that are estimated to produce around 5.3 million kWh every year – enough to stop some 1,900 tonnes of CO2 from being emitted.
“This project is a great example of how cross-border solar partnerships can really work,” says Luis Jimenez Gutierrez, Managing Director of Conergy Spain. “We are delighted that our long-time partners Solaer have relied on our expertise to assist them in entering the UK market and that our partnership is moving forward so successfully.
“Conergy has been active in the UK market for some years and has already installed some large-scale plants, including a 5MW installation in Hawton that, at the time, was Britain's biggest solar park.”
