Spanish manufacturer Tamesol has announced that it will be shipping 36MW of modules to the UK for a solar farm project in Rushden, Northamptonshire.

The £15 million deal will see Tamesol ship the modules in phases, starting deliveries in late December 2013 with subsequent deliveries in February, March and April.

The shipment of modules represents the first solar PV panels from Tamesol that have gained MCS certification; making them eligible for governmental support schemes such as the feed-in tariff.

Commenting on the project, Patxi Otamendi, Tamesol CEO hoped that the deal would act as a springboard for the company’s UK aspirations, he said: “We're going to bet strongly during 2014; we are investing many resources in marketing; we want to take the momentum of Tamesol as a brand and reinforce our quality and service position.”

The Catalan manufacturer has identified the UK as an important solar market and has announced that it will be exhibiting at next year’s Solar Energy UK event, showcasing its TM series of products to the market.

Tamesol announced that 2013 has proved a successful year for the manufacturer as increased sales in Germany, Romania, Italy and the UK have resulted in the best economic results since 2005, when the company started.
