SEGRO, one of Europe’s leading property owners, has handed a lucrative, three-year solar cleaning contract to Solar Panel Cleaning Services (SPCS).

Under the terms of the contract, which is due to commence next month, SPCS will be tasked with carrying out annual cleans of rooftop solar installations on 15 of SEGRO’s properties.

SPCS won the contract following a tender process and Hayley Gjerstad, the firm’s managing director, said a great deal of the evaluation of the criteria was based on quality of service.

“It shows our company’s commitment in delivering quality PV cleaning services within the solar industry and we are very excited to be working with a company that exceed their renewable energy targets and requirements,” she added.

SEGRO owns and manages property in the UK and nine other European countries worth a total value of more than £9 billion, constituting around 6.7 million square metres of space. The group’s sustainability strategy places a great deal of importance on energy and water efficiency.

The contract win comes after what Gjerstad has labelled a “tremendous start” to 2018, with SPCS taking on contracts from new and existing clients.

“Our team is looking forward to seeing what the remainder of 2018 shall bring,” she said.
