Swiss solar inverter company, Sputnik Engineering, has announced that beginning in the fourth quarter of 2010, it will be supplying the UK with its solar inverters. “The UK has ambitious goals. Our portfolio matches the individual market segments perfectly and we are looking forward to being a major player in this dynamic business,” said Daniel Freudiger, general manager of Sputnik Engineering International and head of sales and marketing at the company's Swiss headquarters in Biel.

In order to meet the standards set for products in the UK, Sputnik has optimized its devices. The inverters now come with the engineering recommendations G83/1 and G59/2.

The products for the UK include the string inverters SolarMax S (with a rated output of 1.8 to 4.6 kilowatts) and SolarMax MT (in the output range of 10 – 15 kilowatts) as well as SolarMax TS central inverters (with rated outputs of 50, 80, 100, 300 and 330 kilowatts). Starting in the 4th quarter of 2010, the parameters for the UK will be integrated into the serial devices.

Since the UK market has taken off, there have been concerns that there are not enough high-quality solar inverters available in the country. With well-known companies such as Sputnik moving in, this concern should be a thing of the past.
