The British Board of Agrément (BBA) has been accredited to provide certification to MCS012 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
MCS012 outlines the requirements for pitched roof installation kits and, from 16 September, 2013, will be mandatory for all pitched roof installation kits.
The document is designed to address three distinct aspects of performance, namely: resistance to wind loading, reaction to fire and resistance to water penetration. The BBA has invested in a test rig that is specifically designed to test all three aspects.
The BBA has already awarded over 100 renewable energy product manufacturers MCS certificates and in addition to MCS012 certification covers solar thermal, solar PV, biomass, heat pumps, wind turbines, micro CHP and BIPV.
