In a bid to increase its presence in the UK solar market, Trina Solar has opened new office in Castle Donington, Derby. Alongside the launch of the new facility, the PV module manufacturer has also appointed Richard Rushin as Sales Manager responsible for the UK region.

Rushin comes to Trina Solar from the Mark Group, bringing with him 25 years of commercial knowledge and experience gained through senior sales and business development positions.

Commenting on his appointment he said, “I am delighted to be heading up UK sales for Trina Solar, their commitment to quality and value was evident to me from my earliest meetings with them. As a career sales director I know level of success is ultimately decided by the products and support you offer to clients. After extensively researching the PV market Trina Solar quickly became an obvious target for me.

Clearly, we face challenging times with confusion around the UK FIT level and a global manufacturing consolidation in PV, it was on this basis I that I decided to join an organisation that had the vision and commercial positioning to win through and establish itself as a market leader around the world over the next few years. Partnering with the right companies will be vital during these tumultuous times and I look forward to working with key UK industry stakeholders to achieve good outcomes.

I am genuinely excited about expanding the Trina Solar brand awareness in the UK and forging long-term strategic partnerships to achieve greater market share across the segments.”

Trina Solar has recently received ISO 14064-1:2006 verification from the British Standards Institute as well as making a European debut with its new Trinamount mounting system in a 50kWp retrofit installation in Cumbria.
