Module manufacturer, Trina Solar, is to supply UK energy efficiency firm, Anesco, with 50MW of its solar panels for UK projects.
As part of an ongoing agreement, Trina Solar’s modules will be used for various UK projects for the last quarters of 2013.
Trina Solar has already supplied 90MW of modules to Anesco as part of the partnership which developed in December 2012, with a medium-term goal to supply 150MW in total.
Trina Solar previously delivered another 50MW to Anesco, in the first three months of 2013, and Anesco has already completed several projects with Trina Solar’s modules.
Trina Solar’s UK sales manager, Richard Rushin, said regarding the UK partnership and the industry: “We predicted that 2013 would be the year of the solar farm. While we have seen the UK solar PV industry gather genuine momentum across all market segments over the past year, large-scale systems are undoubtedly playing an increasingly important part in the country’s developing renewable energy mix.”
“With over 90MW already under its belt, our partnership with Anesco has gone from strength to strength, and we are looking forward to helping them towards further successes in the remainder of the year and beyond,” Rushin said.
Anesco CEO and co-founder, Adrian Pike said the partnership with Trina Solar has been “hugely positive” and the partnership had aided in a larger installation capacity and compatible designs.
Commenting on the business landscape post EU-China anti-dumping, Rushin said: “Cheap is no longer cheerful in the PV industry – the undertaking is a great leveller in terms of pricing for all Chinese manufacturers importing into Europe and now the differentiators are all about delivering quality in products and services, certainty of supply for installers and end users and offering expert guidance on purchasing safely,” he said.
