German PV developer, ib vogt’s UK subsidiary, vogt solar, successfully commissioned 80MW of solar projects in the first quarter of 2014.
Six projects have been commissioned, totalling 80MW – all in time to qualify for the higher support rate of 1.6ROCs under the Renewable Obligation (RO) scheme.
Like many solar developers vogt solar faced adverse weather conditions, despite this, all the projects were commissioned in time for the 31 March deadline for ROCs.
The 80MW will generate enough to power 32,000 UK homes with clean energy .
The six plants were constructed and financed by ib vogt and other investors. Institutional investors will take ownership of the plants.
Vogt solar is set to continue deploying projects in the UK, with a 400MW pipeline, with 84MW already permitted with construction to begin in the second quarter of 2014.
Vogt solar has completed 16 solar farms in the UK so far – over 130MW in the last three years.
Ib vogt also recently signed its first power purchase agreement is South East Asia
The six UK projects’ locations have been chosen specifically to utilise solar energy.
Three solar power plants are in Kent, at Knowlton (11.5 MWp), Westwood (9.2 MWp) and Old Rides (8MWp), one in Hampshire, Newlands Farm/Fareham (20.5 MWp), one in Esssex, Wix Lodge (18.7 MWp), and one in Devon: Derriton Fields (11.8 MWp).
Ib vogt teamed up with Hanwha Solarone in March last year to develop UK solar plants. The Hampshire Newlands Farm project’s modules were supplied by Hanwha Solarone.
