Conergy offers new PremiumPlus warranty service

From February 1, Conergy will be offering a PremiumPlus warranty on all its PowerPlus modules.

The newly-announced warranty includes an extension of the product warranty from 10 years to 12. The guarantee is valid for 25 years, and Conergy promises the solar PV customer that the actual performance of the modules will not diminish by more than 3.5 percent during the first year of operation.

Conergy also guarantees that the drop in performance will not exceed 0.6 percent per year between the second and twenty-fifth year of operation, which means that the solar modules will still be working at a minimum of 82 percent of the nominal output in the twenty-fifth year of operation.

Project Manager, Martin Bambach, outlined the ethos behind the PremiumPlus warranty:  “Our aim is to supply our customers with a package that is totally worry-free. With an average complaint rate of only 0.0045 percent, our PowerPlus modules are definitely amongst the highest quality products on the market. In conjunction with the warranty terms, the customer’s interests are actually safeguarded in two ways. At present, this is absolutely unique.”

Conergy’s PremiumPlus includes terms that focus on customer satisfaction specifically, including:

  • In the event of a warranty claim, Conergy will meet the costs involved in the inspection and replacement of the modules up to a certain cost
  • Conergy guarantee the replacement of a module of the same type within the warranty period

The PremiumPlus warranty also allows customers to transfer the warranty rights to a third party. Bambach explained: “When the owner of a sports car puts in a warranty claim, he doesn’t want to be fobbed off with a small hatchback as a replacement with the comment that it will do exactly the same job. It’s the same with solar modules.

Bambach continues: “In the past, if a house owner wanted to sell his house with the photovoltaic system on the roof, this often meant that all warranties for the solar modules became void, resulting in a considerable loss in value. The Conergy PremiumPlus warranty, however, is transferable and the warranties can be passed on 1:1 to the new owner.”

Conergy’s PremiumPlus warranty will be valid for all modules registered in Europe and Asia.
