European PV manufacturer, Bisol will introduce a 25-year linear warranty which will guarantee 85% power output for all its modules after 25 years of operation.
Under the new warranty, Bisol will guarantee that during its first year of operation at least 97% of the output is guaranteed, followed by a maximum 0.50% fall off in performance each year over the next 24 years.
The move marks a shift from the manufacturer's previous tiered warranty, something that the company said is a reflection of its commitment to quality. Bisol states that it continuously monitors all materials used in the manufacture of its modules and subjects finished modules to a ‘damp heat test’.
Bisol said that the new warranty will be in addition to its previous 10-year product warranty that applies to all modules produced after 1 September 2014.
The new linear warranty will be officially introduced on 1 November 2014 and will be automatically activated when the modules are purchased. Customers can also request an official certificate by registering on the company’s website.
