Wagner Solar UK’s TRIC mounting system for solar PV and solar thermal systems has gained MCS012 certification.
The accreditation was carried out by BRE Global and covers both the company’s residential pitched roof system and its commercial mounting product family.
Speaking from their Chichester headquarters, Kamil Shah, marketing manager at Wagner Solar, said: “BRE have a very rigorous test regime to qualify the products for resistance to wind uplift and weather tightness but knowing that our products have already undergone extensive testing in Germany as part of the product development process, we were confident of passing without any issues.”
The implementation of MCS012 has been hit by continuous delays due to the small number of products that have been certified as MCS012 compliant. Currently, there are 49 products with MCS012 accreditation.
Shah continued: “From 1 July, only certified mounting product can be used for systems below 45kWp in size. Looking at the available products to date, there is limited availability of commercial mounting product and considering the added value support we offer installers, we are expecting a big surge in demand for small commercial system requirements over the coming months.”
