A senior management role with the lead trade association for the rapidly expanding UK solar sector.

With over 450 members the Solar Trade Association (STA) covers both solar photovoltaic and thermal technologies and is the UK’s largest and most influential solar association in the sector. Our aim is to promote the use of solar energy at all scales to Government and other key stakeholders. At our London Head Office we have staff working across the policy, communications, events, marketing, and administrative support functions.

Solar stands on the brink of becoming a mainstream source of renewable energy generation. A dynamic leader is needed to ensure the industry reaches it potential. Key responsibilities will be:

• Strategic leadership of STA, thus cementing its role as the lead trade association for the solar sector

• Representing STA to government and other stakeholders

• Public face of STA for media and public speaking

• Responsibility for budgeting and financial planning

• Driving new member acquisition and retention of existing members

• Diversifying and increasing STA income

• Developing new member services

Reporting to the STA Council, the successful candidate will work with STA staff and members in persuading stakeholders of the positive economic benefits of solar PV and thermal, through providing robust analysis and developing a good working relationship with Government, the wider supply chain and other stakeholders. This will be achieved by the development of policy, giving presentations to stakeholders and communication through the web. There will also be the opportunity to deliver media briefings on key issues affecting the technology and its deployment.
