Rexel hopes to shine a light on UK commercial solar capabilities

Rexel has been announced as the sponsor of the ‘Commercial Solar Hub’ at this year’s Ecobuild exhibition.

The electrical distributor is looking to showcase Britain’s best commercial solar installs by displaying pictures of landmark installs across the hub.

Since the tri-monthly degression mechanism was introduced, commercial-scale solar on rooftops has struggled to gain traction because of challenging feed-in tariff rate. The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) acknowledged the faltering market and introduced a new rooftop RO rate in the hope of rekindling demand.

Rexel hopes to use the commercial solar hub as a platform to promote the UK solar industry’s capability and in turn drive demand for commercial solar.

To participate in the promotion send the following information to energysolutions@rexel.co.uk by February 8, 2013:

  1. A photo of the non-domestic installation
  2. Panel and inverter manufacturers
  3. kWp of the system
  4. Date it was commissioned
  5. Energy yield in kWh up until 31 January, 2013.

In addition, if you would like to submit a project to be included in the ‘case studies’ section of Solar Power Portal please send details of the project to pbennett@solarpowerportal.co.uk.
