An extremely successful product launch at Solar Energy UK saw Solar Panel Security sell-out of stock of the newly-launched ‘SPrakets’ product.

The SPraket is a two piece bracket that locks under and between two solar modules, leaving no grip to be removed. The only way of removing the bracket is with the use of a grinder – a fact that would deter the majority of would-be thieves.

Commenting on the company’s launch at Solar Energy UK, Peter Macalroy founder of Solar Panel Security told Solar Power Portal: “We definitely did the right thing launching at the show. This product was over a year in development getting things right and the response we received was fantastic.

“We have had interest from national installers, international distributors as well as interest from several local authority councils. We even had interest from insurance brokers looking to get our product approved so that reduced premiums will be offered to customers who fit SPrackets on their panels.”

The utility-scale solar sector remained one of the most talked-about topics at Solar Energy UK and Solar Panel Security saw noticeable interest in its new product. Macalroy explained: “We had lots of interest from solar farm installers, not only for the sake of security, but also for the prevention of panels being lifted from frames in high winds.”

In fact, demand for the product was so high that a spike in website traffic on the second day of the event caused the company’s website to crash.

Macalroy explained that the company has an international patent pending and is exploring the possibility of a global launch by the middle of next year. The company expects to receive another run for delivery early next year.
