Harrogate-based installer, Think Renewable Energy, has completed the installation of a 190kWp ground-mounted solar system at Fridlington Farms in Sutton-on-the-Forest.

The system consists of 790 WINAICO 240W solar modules that will help dramtically cut the farm’s carbon footprint as well as operational costs. Commenting on the installation, Think Renewables operations director, Jamie Warden, said: “Fridlington Farms is a major energy user and the electricity generated will help reduce operating costs.”

He added: “It’s also increasingly the case that big name firms, who are keen to reduce their carbon footprint, prefer their suppliers to use green energy and this has certainly been an influencing factor here.”

Gary Fuller, WINAICO’s UK managing director, added that the 190kWp system is the first of many larger scale systems in the UK that will be installed in 2013 using the Taiwanese manufacturer’s modules.
