Early-stage plans to develop a 30MW solar farm on the site of an old airbase in the north east of Scotland have been revealed.
The former World War Two base, RAF Tealing, currently houses a large substation, five sets of transmission lines and one wind turbine.
Green Cat Renewables has applied for screening opinion, a pre-cursor to compiling a formal planning request.
The UK's current largest solar farm is on a former airfield in Wymeswold, Leicestershire.
The developer told local paper The Courier that it would cost around £30 million to build and would cover 120 acres.
The site would continue to be used for agriculture.
Lower land rents and the availability of grid connections have made Scotland and other UK locations north of southern most England increasingly popular with developers.
