BSR Group has appointed a new operations and management (O&M) director to head up one of the company’s primary services, responsible for over 500 MW of assets under contract.

Matthew Harnack brings a wealth of experience in the UK sector having previously served as head of renewable and CHP operations and then associate director at Ofgem E-serve, Good Energy’s head of feed-in tariffs and most recently commercial director at Powervault.

He also joins with considerable international experience having previously held the role of director of sustainable energy at the New South Wales’ Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability in Australia.

“I’m very excited to join BSR and I look forward to using my skills in proposition development, business development and operational performance improvement to continue the growth of the company’s O&M business and to provide the best service possible to our customers,” Harnack said of the move.

BSR has said the appointment demonstrates its ongoing commitment to providing quality O&M services in the UK, helping safeguard the future performance of all assets under their management.

“We are delighted that Matthew will be joining us to lead the future growth of our O&M business. His appointment further strengthens our highly experienced operational team with proven commercial and strategic leadership,” said Graham Harding, managing director and CFO of BSR Group.

Harding recently spoke to Solar Power Portal about the company’s plans for 2018, specifically a big push in the “fascinating” O&M market which Harnack will now be key to realising.
