DECC has confirmed that it has been notified of legal action against it over the FiT pre-accreditation changes.

The notification was acknowledged by Energy minister Andrea Leadsom as she gave evidence to the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee on the subject of investor confidence and job losses caused by the government's policy reset.

A Department of Energy and Climate Change spokesman remained tight-lipped on the subject when contacted by Solar Power Portal, stating it would be “inappropriate to comment further” considering that the notice could be subject to “further legal action”.

“Our priority is to keep bills as low as possible for hardworking families and businesses, while reducing our emissions in the most cost-effective way. We’re taking urgent action to address overspend under the LCF and protect bill payers,” the spokesman added.
