Equinox Energy Capital has acquired the project rights to four solar farms in the UK totalling 57MW of capacity.

The fund will acquire the projects from Bloombridge Development Partners and ROC Energy. The projects involved in the deal are the 21.2MW Gaultney Solar Park, the 10.5MW Flit Solar Park, the 11.5MW  Rowles Solar Park and the 13.9MW Egmanton Solar Park.

All of the sites have planning permission and are anticipated to be connected before April 2015, when the renewable obligation (RO) closes for solar developments over 5MW.

Equinox Energy Capital claims that the additions take its UK solar pipeline to over 200MW of capacity, all of which will be connected under the RO rather than its replacement scheme, contracts for difference (CfD). The government recently raised the budget for the CfD, however, revised load factors for solar and onshore wind will see less of the budget made available for PV
