Renewables consultancy K2 Management strengthens its UK team, poaching country director Gary Bills from Mott MacDonald.

Bills has been appointed as UK country director, joining K2 in September. Previously, Bills worked as programme director for renewable energy at consultancy Mott MacDonald and has over 15 years industry experience.

K2’s new global director of asset management from July will be Steve Ikin, having most recently held the position of director of operations and asset management at Community Windpower.

Will Sheard has been appointed global manager for due diligence, having worked in the team for the past three years.

Jørn Zielke, CEO of K2 Management, said the consultancy is “very much looking forward to” servicing its UK clients, as well as strengthening its global asset management and due diligence offerings.

“We see a strong interest in our services and solutions from all over the world, so we are pleased to be adding to our already robust setup.”

Gary Bills, UK country director, said: “I am very optimistic about the future of the UK renewable sector – despite the challenges that it has faced in recent years, the market is starting to improve with the use of new technology and I’m looking forward to being a part of that at K2 Management.”
