Solar distributor Libra Energy has shifted its UK-facing distribution and sales business to mainland Europe as part of a wider operational restructure.

In a statement issued last week, Libra said that while the company was not closing nor going into liquidation, the decision would result in its UK-based team leaving the business.

The UK office is to remain operational until the end of November and all orders and enquiries are to be handled until then, but after that point customers will be directed to Libra’s Netherlands-based international sales office and distribution centre.

Online orders will also need to be made via the Libra Energy B.V. portal, rather than Libra’s UK-facing website.

The decision to effectively shift its business to the Netherlands comes 18 months after Libra sold a majority stake in its business to Dutch wholesaler group Rensa.
