London’s social housing bearing the brunt of FiT cuts

Last week London mayor Boris Johnson revealed that £2.7 million worth of solar installations planned under the capital’s RE:NEW programme had been cancelled following cuts to the feed-in tariff.

With the majority of these installations understood to have been planned for social housing, it transpires that those most at risk of fuel poverty – the very people energy secretary Amber Rudd aims to help – are the ones most impacted by the subsidy reset.
