International solar developer OPDE has started construction at three new solar farms in the UK with a combined capacity of 30MW.

The three farms, each with a capacity of 10MW, are located in Colston Bassett, Nottinghamshire; Crewkerne, Somerset; and Sittingbourne, Kent. All three farms are expected to complete between December 2015 and March 2016.

Once connected to the grid, OPDE’s operational portfolio in the UK will stand at just below 70MW, making the UK one of OPDE’s most active European portfolios alongside Spain and Italy.

“Our success in European markets has enabled us to expand significantly and undertake an internationalisation process, especially successful in United Kingdom, a country where we have developed and built seven outstanding photovoltaic farms of remarkable dimension. We are very proud of the results we have obtained in this market,” OPDE said in a statement.
