Japanese technology giant Panasonic has bolstered its position in the UK energy market by launching its virtual solar service to UK consumers.

The service, which is available in three stores across the country, allows users to run a simulation to provide an estimate of how much a rooftop solar installation would produce if it were installed on their home.

The software calculates how much investment would be needed and produces figures on both energy and earnings generation using Panasonic’s HIT PV module.

Stores in Crawley, Brighton and Leicester are the first to receive the service and customers can use the service to request a quote for an installation, including a roof survey, from a Panasonic Premium Installer.

The service was initially launched in October last year and Daniel Roca, UK country manager for Panasonic, said it had been “immensely” well received by homeowners and solar installers so far.

“By launching the service within these selected stores, we are giving UK consumers even greater opportunity to see how financially viable it is to go solar, as well as learning more about our expanding solar module products for the UK market,” Roca said.
