China Sunergy has signed a 50MW Memorandum of Understanding with a view to expand its UK presence. The MoU was inked just before the start of Solar Power UK 2012 which kicked off on October 2 and runs until October 4.

The Chinese PV manufacturer is exhibiting at the show with a booth located at P19. In addition, the company is sponsoring its modules for the solar park demonstration area, showcasing its QSAR modules as well as standard poly-silicon modules. China Sunergy’s country manager Yolanda Qin will accompany the large area exhibit with a daily presentation explaining important characteristics of modules in a solar park application.

Speaking with Solar Power Portal, Qin said that the 50MW projects will be located in Cornwall and Devon and each project will have a maximum PV capacity of 10MW. No more details were unveiled.

CSUN has already an attractive market share in Southern and Eastern Europe as well as stepping up activities in Germany and developing markets such as South America and Africa.
