A-SUN has revealed an ongoing industrial-scale project, which will be 1.16MW once complete, demonstrating the company’s commitment to larger-scale solar power in the UK. A-SUN has recently completed the 355kW first stage of this development, which is roof mounted.
This installation is located in Somerset in the South West of England and is an important milestone in the UK’s PV industry since it is the largest project of its kind. The installation received the planning permission without any problems, since it was established that the system wouldn’t have any visual or physical impact on the area.
The project is taking place partly on roof (phase 1: 355kW) and on ground (phase 2: 770kW). The system is made up of 6,100 panels of MCS certified ASUN 190W monocrystalline modules, offering high performances and long-term durability. A-SUN expects the system to generate enough energy to save more than 550 tonnes of CO2 each year.
A-SUN has offices in Europe and was one of the first manufacturers with offices in London, as a proof of its presence and its implication in the UK. The A-SUN team is ensuring a permanent advice support to its customer as well as an appropriated service management.
Through its dynamic expansion, A-SUN intends to participate actively as a major manufacturer to achieve the target set by UK government in April 2010.
