Slough-based solar wholesaler, Antaris Solar, has launched a pair of stand-alone, portable photovoltaic systems. The eKiss Box and its smaller sibling, the Mini eKiss Box, have been designed to allow users to generate power in off-grid locations such as stables, outbuildings, sheds, camp sites, hunting cabins or holiday homes.

The eKiss range (which stands for energy: Keep it simple & safe) consists of four versions ranging from 350W to 2000W.  Each eKiss Box consists of just three components – polycrystalline Antaris solar PV modules, inverters that convert the electricity from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC), and batteries that store the electricity generated by the solar panels.

Antaris customises each system to the customer’s individual requirements as each eKiss Box is capable of supporting up to nine solar modules. The company expects the system to powerful enough to run, depending on the configuration, washing machines, refrigerators, telephone systems, televisions, laptops, e-bikes and even caravans.

Prices for a fully customised eKiss Box system start at £900, in addition to the eKiss Box, the Mini eKiss Box is a briefcase-sized chargin box with pluggable panels and a maintenance-free 12V battery. It has a maximum output of 65W and is ideally suited for powering small fans, laptops, mobile phones and battery chargers.
